This course is the basic training for snow activities and also one of the Snow & Ice Climbing training series of Into-Adventure. The purpose of this basic training is to provide trainees with basic snow climbing knowledge and techniques. Through the classroom seminar and on-site field training, trainees will possess of snow peak climbing skill, basic belay technique under difficult terrain, and campsite selection and construction ability. Nevertheless, this course is also the basic training for mountaineers who have intentions to step into overseas mountain expedition.

A. Classroom Seminar
Date: 08:00 ~ 16:00, January 14, 2011
1. Snow environment and hazard recognition
2. Equipments
3. altitude illness: hypothermia, frostbite, snow-blind, sunburn, dehydration
4. Basic knots
5. Basic belay

B. Mt. Syue Training
1. Camping & Food
2. Snow climbing technique
3. Self arrest & roped climbing techniques

Itinerary:
D1: Taipei (06:00 at Hsin-Tien MRT station) – Training Site
D2-D3: Field Training and Test
D4: Back to Entrance – Celebration Dinner – Taipei

Fee: NTD$ 7,500
Include: Transportation, Classroom seminar, Guide fee, Group gear (tent, climbing equipments, cooking gears, communication equipments, etc), Insurance (NTD$ 3 Million), Celebration Dinner, Certification

Not include：personal gears, personal food and fuel.

Announcement:
1.Trainees must enhance physical strength. Classroom seminar and pre-training are required.
2.Trainees who pass the tests from both classroom seminar and field training shall receive a certificate of basic snow climbing from Into-Adventure.
3.Each trainee will share group gear and also all personal food. Cooking will be in groups.
4.The field training will be changed to Hehuan Mountain if we can not get Mt. Syue permit.
